Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–10 pm. Went for dessert and they have a ton of gelato flavors and it’s authentically flavorful. Tried four flavors and all were fantastic. The ricotta-pistachio cake looked amazing but didn’t have room. Next time!

They have gotten back some of the quality that was lost but they are. Or back to peak quality - the bread servings are bigger. The side salad is improved but the magic is still missing

Omg, the good was incredible the ambiance is so perfect. I took a photo of my salad but when the Ravioli arrived I just started eating and forgot. Highly recommended you pop on for a casual little slice of Italy. And the music playing is just right for the atmosphere 💚🤍❤️

Meatball parm panini was delicious — juicy and flavorful meatballs with not too much sauce and some great quality mozzarella and basil to compliment it. Plus some great textured bread. Probably the best meatball sub I’ve had in a long time. The meatballs are huge so I was full after eating half of the panini. And it was a part of the $12.75 lunch special offered Tuesday-Saturday for a panini + salad. Fantastic deal! The salad was fresh and had a refreshing vinaigrette. Plus our order came with 2 pieces of bread on the side (not pictured) that were nice and crisp on the outside and pillowy on the inside. My dining companion enjoyed his arrabbiata. The penne was a bit overcooked, but the portion size was huge. The dish could probably feed 3 people. This is a order at the counter type place, and there were 2 other parties in the restaurant when we were there. We were shocked there weren’t more people here given how good the food was! Same chef and owner as Antico’s though so maybe people just don’t know about it even though it’s right next to Antico’s

Do yourself a favor and go. Recently renovated and Michelin-recommended for the past two years, this charming Italian spot delivers some of the most delicious, well-prepared food - AND it’s an incredible value. Service is quick, the vibe can be as casual or as date-night as you want, it’s family-friendly, great for dine-in or takeout, and it’s BYOB. It truly has it all. It’s essentially three concepts in one: Gio’s, with fantastic chicken dishes and pastas (all served with complimentary salads - and yes, their famous Amish chicken is exclusive to them in Atlanta); Antico, with outstanding pizza; and their gelato shop, offering gelato and classic Italian desserts. We’ve been going to the west midtown location for six years and even ordered takeout throughout Covid. I recently had the chance to meet Gio, and he is genuinely humble and incredibly kind! My favorite chicken dish is the Sorrento Lemon Chicken; my husband loves the Diavola and the Scarpiello (both with a little heat). Every chicken entrée comes with the simplest, most flavorful side salad … I usually order a second because it’s that good. Only note: I do wish the chicken parm came with more marinara. The chicken and p
